Item Utility Of Homoeopathic Management In Root Canal Treatment With Relation Of Homoeopathic Posology(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2024-01) Darji, D; Patel, G.Background: Root canal treatment saves teeth that would otherwise need to be extracted. It involves removing the damaged or dead nerve tissues and pus in the root canals of teeth that have become infected. The infected or dead tissue is cleaned away and the residual canal space is also cleaned and disinfected, and the root canal is prepared so that it can be sealed with a filling. The tooth can then be restored and can remain in function for many years provided there is sufficient sound tooth structure to support a new filling or crown. Material And Methods: Homoeopathic management in root canal treatment with relation of Homoeopathic posology through case study after defining, analysing then further testing data for accuracy. Selection of medicine was depending on the concept of the individualization. Selection of potency and repetition was based on Homoeopathic posology which describe in Organon of medicine. Result: In study mostly in chronic cases low or medium potency gives good result and In acute cases higher potency with single dose. Conclusion: Our study has concluded that Homoeopathic management has shown utility in root canal treatment.Item Impact On The Quality Of Life Among Acne Patients Attending A Tertiary Care Hospital In The Southwestern Part (Saurashtra Region) Of Gujarat(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2024-01) Purohit, M; Bhabhor, BB; M, Sumana; Bhuptani, NV.Background:Acne vulgaris is a common, chronic disorder resulting from the inflammation of pilosebaceous unit, present with clinically various forms. It is usually prevalent in adolescent may persist in adulthood. This study was conducted to evaluate the quality of life (QoL) in patients suffering from the acne vulgaris.Material And Methods:Hospital based cross sectional study was conducted in 100 patients attending outpatient department of dermatology at a tertiary care hospital in south western part (Saurashtra region) of Gujrat. Dermatology life quality index (DLQI) questionnaire was used to observe the effect of acne among patients.ResultAnd Conclusion:Total numbers of patients enrolled were 100(71 females.29 males). Maximum patients were of the age group 21-30 years with the 52(52%) individuals, followed by 25 (25%) in the age group older than 31 years, and 23 (23%) in the age group younger than 20 years. In general, grade 2 acne was the most common kind of acne. The vast majority had a “very large effect’’ on QoL.Item Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension In Background Of Empty Sella Syndrome(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2024-01) Vaghela, N; Patel, P; Kamdar, P; Chauhan, S.Background:Empty sella syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by enlargement or malformation of a structure in the skull known as the sella turcica. Most individuals with empty sella syndrome do not have any associated symptoms, but the finding raises concerns about hormone deficiencies. Empty sella syndrome may occur as a primary disorder (idiopathic) or as a secondary disorder in which it occurs due to an underlying condition or disorder such as a treated pituitary tumor, head trauma, or a condition known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension (also called pseudotumor cerebri) during which elevated intracranial pressure causes empty sella syndrome. Here we present a case of 25 year married female having symptoms and signs of raised ICP and decreased secondary sexual characters with blood investigations showing hypothyroidism. Her MRI Brain showed features of raised intracranial pressure (ICP) suggestive of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension with partially empty sella. Patient was diagnosed as Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension with partial empty Sella with hypothyroidism and hypogonadotrophic normogonadism secondary to raised ICP. Patient was treated with IV Mannitol, thyroxine was started according to weight and other supportive treatment. Patient consciousness improved and got better. Patient was discharged with follow up on oral acetazolamide, thyroxine and hormone replacement therapy.Item Biofilm Production And Antifungal Resistance Among Candida Species In Patients With Vulvovaginitis: A Cross Sectional Study(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2024-01) Garg, A; Kaur, N.Background:Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), one of the commonest fungal infections in women of reproductive age group, can become recurrent if not managed appropriately. Recently, production of biofilm, which reduces the susceptibility to anti-fungal agents, has also been implicated in its pathogenesis. Hence, thestudy was planned to determine the prevalence of VVC in cases of vulvovaginitis, identify the pre-dominant candida species, and find out their antifungal susceptibility pattern and to detect biofilm production in the candida isolates. Material And Methods:In this cross-sectional study, all isolates were identified and confirmed by various basic microbiological methods followed by the VITEK-2 system.Biofilm formation was detected by Congo red agar method and Tube method. Descriptive statistical methods were used to evaluate the data collected. Result:Out of total 25 patients, 7 were positive with VVC out of which 2 cases were caused by C.albicans and 5 by Candida Non Albicans (3 by C.glabrata and 2 by C.tropicalis). As compared to NAC, C. albicans is still partially sensitive to fluconazole. Fortunately, both C. albicans and C. tropicalis are still 100% sensitive to voriconazole although resistance has developed partially in C. glabrata. Biofilm production was observed in 3 cases. Conclusion:Majority of cases of VVC were due to NAC predominantly C. glabrata which has grave therapeutic implications as they show decreased susceptibility to all antifungals. Voriconazole is still effective but needs to be used rationally to avoid developing resistance to it also. The evidence of biofilm production could be an important contributor towards increased incidence ofantifungal drug resistance.Item A Clinico-Etiopathological Study Of Leg Ulcers At Tertiary Care Center(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2024-01) Kyada, N; Modha, J; Patel, B; Bhuptani, N.Background:A leg ulcer is a disruption in the epithelial integrity of the skin, typically located between the knee and malleoli, characterized by partial or complete loss of the epidermis and dermis, occasionally extending into the subcutaneous adipose tissue. The incidence of leg ulceration is increasing, due to risk factors such as advancing age and increasing prevalence of risk factors like smoking, obesity, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. Without timely intervention, these ulcers may recur and precipitate severe complications, imposing substantial economic burdens on patients. Material And Methods:In this observational study, 32 patients with leg ulcer attending the dermatology OPD at P.D.U. medical college, Rajkot,Gujarat were enrolled after obtaining their consent. Detailed history of eachpatient was recorded. Routine investigations and biopsy were done to detect associated risk factors and histopathological correlation. Result:Among the 32 patients,21 (65.62%) were male and 11 (34.38%) were female, predominantly in theage group of >50 years , trophic ulcers(31.25%)was predominant followed byby pyoderma gangrenosum (25%), venous ulcers (18.75%), vasculitic ulcers (15.62%), diabetic ulcers (6.25%), and malignancy-related ulcers (3.12%).History of sensoryneuropathy due to leprosy (33.33%), obesity (21.88%), hypertension (18.75%), diabetes (18.75%), and malignancy (3.12%) were the common risk factors in leg ulcer patients. Conclusion:Due to the complex nature of these ulcers, a thorough diagnostic approach and adherence to treatment plans are essential for successful management.Item Assessment Of Knowledge, Attitude And Practice Regarding Interocclusal Record Materials And Techniques Among Dental Practitioners With Different Training Levels: A Survey Based Study(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2024-01) Shah, R; Mehta, S; Rajput, C; Patel, P; Patel, S; Vania, C.Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practice regarding interocclusal record materials and techniques among dental practitioners with different training levels like undergraduate and postgraduate and those undergoing post graduation training. Material And Methods: In this survey based study total 152 dentist participated via Google forms. Survey questions were framed aiming to collect general information and knowledge, attitude and practice towards interocclusal record materials. The results obtained from the survey Google forms were analysed. Heunderstood the mental illness not very different in kind from the physical illness. He classified theillnesses on the principles of cause and effect and the dynamic shift of the illness from the body tomind or vice versa. Aim & Object: To classify patients suffering form Depressive Disorder as per DSM IVcriteria. To determine the relationship of this classification with that enunciated in the 215,216, 221 and225 aphorisms of Organon of Medicine. To evolve the totality of patients on the basis of the aboveevolved Hahnemannian classification of Depressive Disorders. To project a therapeutic plan based onthe finding in 1, 2 and 3 above. Material And Methods: Detailed interview focusing mainly uponsymptomatology for arriving at acomprehensive clinical diagnosis according to DSM IV. Studying theevolutionary pattern of the selected cases to understand them according to the Hahnemannianclassification. Correlating the therapeutic outcome with the principles used and thus discovering anycorrelation between the two approaches. Result and Conclusion: The conclusions range from theconceptual clarity of the applicability of the two systems of classification together to the specificunderstanding of the requirement of appropriate remedy in the appropriate potency and repetitionbased upon a collective understanding of the predisposing and maintaining causes and thesusceptibility. The importance of understanding of the susceptibility came out as the most importantaspect in the combination of the two systems of classification.Item To Study The Role Of Justicia Adhatoda In Management Of Allergic Rhinitis In Children(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2022-12) Oza, N.Background:Allergic rhinitis is the most common chronic disease in children. According to homoeopathy, mind, body and soul are trinity of life. So along with exciting and maintaining causes, there is need of studying the psycho -somatic correlations. As in many clinical cases, the state of mother during pregnancy leading to skin condition in child is noted. Aim and Objective: To study the various clinical presentations of Pyoderma. To examine time of occurrence & observe whether it is in antecedence with the onset of pyoderma i.e. .to establishes the precipitating factors of pyoderma. To observe the socio-economical scenario of the patient’s life to establish the maintaining causes of pyoderma. To understand the susceptibility and to establish the role of miasms. Material And Methods:Detailed case study to understand patient as a person & the focus will be on the life space of the child, the parents’ mental state before conception, mother’s state during pregnancy, his interactions with people around him both inside & outside family; possible causative events and classifyingthem into precipitating, exciting & maintaining causes.Result:In all the 30 cases no psychological cause has been found. So we can postulate that pyoderma is predominantly a physical disease where the predisposing maintaining and precipitating causes play a vital role. Conclusion:As prescription was based mainly on the symptoms exhibited, recurrence and understanding of susceptibility, the most frequently used potency, were moderate, in frequent repetition (80%).Item ISO 15189 Internal Auditor Training- Feedback From Participant To Make It More Effective And Convenient(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2022-06) Jethva, D; Papulla, S; Patel, S; Savaliya, N; Karbhari, N.Background:ISO 15189 will equip traineeswith effective auditing techniques and will increase understandingof audit methodologies. For the no of days maximum people gave the answer as 3 days. For mode of training results obtained was 80.23% offline.60.46% of trainees wanted weekdays as the days to be included for training session.60.4% of participants wanted power point presentation as the method for training to be conducted. Once in year was selected by 40.6% of trainees for how frequently the training should be conducted. All the participants have answered for the mock audit to be conducted. Conclusion:Most of them seem satisfactory with the training. Many of them suggested we have small break sessions during training. Live training sessions was also suggested as it could be more interactive.Item Analysing The Correlation Of Lipid Profile Pattern In Chronic Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Patients(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2022-06) Patel, M; Rana, D; MalhotraS; Patel, T.Background:The global burden of ARF and RHD is significant, and is predominantly found in populations living in low-resource settings. This study was conducted with a view for analysing the lipid profile variation in patients with chronic Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) and correlating the same. The early management of RHD has to be started to prevent further cardiac complications. To date no hypothesis is established on the relation between the Lipid Profile and RHD. This study would be beneficial to Indian cardiologists in defining the optimal treatment by the choice of antibiotic therapy and Lipid lowering agents like Statins.Material And Methods:It was a cross-sectional study carried out on the patients visiting Cardiology Out Patient Department (OPD) at a tertiary care hospital in Ahmedabad and who were diagnosed with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD).The blood lipids levels of thepatients were evaluated with current classification schemes and treatment levels for hyperlipidemia based on the National Cholesterol Education Panel’s (NCEP) Adult Treatment Program-3 (ATP-III) guidelines.Result:Total 89 patients were included in the study. 76 patients were associated with dyslipidaemia and 13 patients had normal lipid values. As far as total cholesterol levels were concerned, 23 out of 76 patients (30.26%) had above target levels for total cholesterol. Also 46 patients out of 76(60.52%) had raised triglycerides levels and 47 patients (61.84%) had raised LDL levels. As far as HDL levels were concerned, 38 out of 76 patients (50.00%) had below desirable levels. The frequency of deranged LDL is higher as compared to HDL, triglycerides and total cholesterol levels. If these values are to be co-related to the disease, then LDL as a lipid parameter stands most significant. Conclusion:Morbidity and mortality in RHD is very high in Indian patients and one of the determinants of the cardiovascular morbidity is the increased lipid levels. The frequency of deranged LDL is higher as compared to HDL and total cholesterol levels in these patients. This study was planned to evaluate an entirely novel hypothesis that RHD is an independent risk factor for Atherosclerosis and CAD. The exact reason behind the occurrence is unknown but it can be environmental or genetic. RHD and Dyslipidaemia might engulf younger patients. The study is also aimed at evaluating all lipid parameters with RHD.Item Evaluation Of Sealing Ability Of Biodentine, MTA Angelus And Zirconia-Reinforced Glass Ionomer Cement For Repairing Furcation Perforations : An In Vitro Study(Association of Health Professionals and Health Educators, 2022-06) Sneha; Asrani, H; Rawtiya, M; K, S P; Asrani, K.Background:Background and objective: One of the unfavourable outcomes of endodontic treatment is furcal perforation.
