Item House surgeon training (Editorial)(1986-01-01)Item Spinal injuries(1960-10-01) Roaf, RIn spinal injuries, as in most conditions treatment should be based on knowledge of pathology. A brief account of the basic pathology of spinal injuries is given a suggestions are made as to the best treatment for each type of spinal injury, according to its pathology. Even if damage to the spinal cord is irreversible, much can be done to rehabilitate the patient to enable him to return home and resume wage earning.Item Clinical trial of thiacetazone isoniazid(1968-10-01) Ko GyiItem Enteric fever complicated by hepatitis and thyroiditis (case report)(1969-01-01) Myo ThweItem Referral patterns at Bassein General Hospital(1985-01-01) Nyan Win; Aung Tun ThetItem How to recognise and how to treat leprosy(1953-05-01) Lampe, P.H.JItem A six year study of cerebral palsy in Rangoon(1959-01-01) Sarin, B.PItem Acute poisoning-its diagnosis and management(1981-01-01) Hnin YeeMajority of acute poisoning in adults are due to self. Poisoning and a few from accidental poisoning. Clinical features of common examples of (1)Drugs (2)Household agents and (3)Pesticides are mentioned. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis to consider are important aspects of acute poisoning. Principles of management of poisoning are discussed.Item Leucorrhoea(1959-01-01) Khin SiItem Preliminary bacteriological study of clot cultures in suspected enteric fever patients(1982-03-01) Khin Saw Khine1.1692 clot cultures were done front the 2197 samples of blood received for the Widal test. 2. The total percentage positivity for Salmonellae was 3.1 and that from the children was 6.5. 3. Salmonellae isolated were Salm. typhi 49 strains, Salm. paratyphi ,A 2 strains, Salm. paratyphi B 1 strain and Salm. cholerae-suis 1 strain.Item The use of placebos(1956-10-01) Lewis, R.AItem Early and residual deaths in acute childhood diarrhoea(1985-01-01) Soe Soe Aye; Ei Ei KhinItem Recent trends in physical medicine(1956-10-01) Greene, Phillips. (2) The plexus formed a three dimensional meshwork and was composed of individual schwann cells enclosing cholinergic and/or adrenergic axons. (3) In electronmicroscopy, the beaded parts of axons contained more mitochondria, neurofilaments and various types of vesicles than the intervening parts. The organelles increased in quantity at the synaptic contact with the muscle cells. (4) At the point of contact with the muscle cells there was no schwann cytoplasm and the axon was separated from the muscle plasmalemma only by their fused basement membranes, thus confirming the observation of Richardson (1958, 1962, 1964) and others. (5) There were single endings innervating 2 adjacent muscle cells and single muscle cells innervated by 2 or more endings. (6) Morphological evidence suggested poflaxonal and polyneuronal innervation of individual smooth muscle cells.Item A preliminary report on the status of birth and death registration in rural area(1970-07-01) Khin Hlaing; Kyaw Win; Pein Gwan; Thar Lwin; Myint Than; Mya Than; Zaw Win Gyaw; Kyi Saing; Sein TunItem Penicillin in the treatment of syphilis(1955-01-01) Lozano, A.AItem Atraumatic method of the endonasul operations on the maxillary sinuses(1963-04-01) Matveev, A.D; Win ShwinItem Effect of beclomethasone dipropionate in chronic bronchial asthma(1982-01-01) Tin Nu Swe; Myo ThweBeclomethasone dipropionate (Aldecin) 2 x 50ug x 4 times/day given by inhalation was compared with control involving forty patients (20 study patients and 20 control patients) with chronic bronchial asthma. The period of study for each patient being 8 weeks. Improvement was assessed by diary score cards with its criteria, daily peak flow rates and other pulmonary function tests. Significant improvement was seen by each of these criteria. Although improvement was obvious during the first month of Beclomethasone dipropionate therapy in (he majority of studied patients, a more definite benefit was seen during the second month in terms of symptom scores and daily peak flow rate and FEV 1studies. There was no evidence of any deleterious effects from the drug: There results indicate that Becfomethasone dipropionate (Aldecin) given by inhalation in a dose of 400ug per day promises to be an effective treatment in patients with Bronchial Asthma).Item Keloid and radiation therapy(1964-04-01) Tin Aung
