Abstract
Majority of acute poisoning in adults are due to self. Poisoning and a few from accidental poisoning. Clinical features of common examples of (1)Drugs (2)Household agents and (3)Pesticides are mentioned. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis to consider are important aspects of acute poisoning. Principles of management of poisoning are discussed.
