Abstract
Pancytopenia is a clinico-haematological entity often seen in clinical practice as a characteristic of various diseases, vary from non-malignant as drug-induced pancytopenia, nutritional de?ciencies or infections, to malignant neoplasms. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate pancytopenia's clinico-hematological pro?le. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted in the department of pathology of our college. A prospective study was carried out among 100 patients of pancytopenia. Clinical ?ndings, CBC & bone marrow examination were performed. Result: Out of 100 cases, 65% were megaloblastic anemia, 11% were dimorphic anemia. Generalized weakness seen in 85% cases. Pallor was present in all cases of pancytopenia. Conclusion: The present study concludes that the early hematological investigations along with clinical and bone marrow examination of pancytopenia are helpful in understanding the disease process and to diagnose and to rule out various causes of pancytopenia.
