dc.description.abstract | Mental disorders are serious clinical and public health problems, in need of academic and scientific monitoring that might better help understand the problem and propose effective solutions and actions. This study aims to verify the clinical and epidemiological profile of patients with various mental disorders treated by a private clinic in the city of Belém, in Pará, in the eastern amazon, in the period between 2011 and 2012, through a quantitative approach. We analyzed 271 records from Neuropsychiatric sector. The results show that 65% of patients are women, predominantly in the age group between 36 and 40 years (14%). Among the drugs administered, antidepressants (50%) and anxiolytics (23%) stood out, and the most common groups of pathologies are F40-F48 (51%), and F30-39 (37%). It was concluded that the observed clinical-epidemiological profile is peculiar, presenting some points in common with studies carried out in other Brazilian regions and the in-depth analysis of the presented results can contribute to the planning and success of Public Policies in Mental Health, as it provides data that enable changes in management and care, in order to improve the mental health of this state. | en_US |
