Abstract
Elderly pregnant women (35 years or more of age) is high risk that may effect to delivery course and fetus morethan young pregnancy (younger than 35 years). But some studies failed to confirm this association. This historicalcohort study collected data from Labor Room of Sukhothai Hospital from October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009about delivery and fetal outcomes in every singleton pregnancy. There were 268 elderly pregnancy (average age 37.91+ 2.3 years) and 1,789 young pregnancy with verage age 24.60 + 5.48 years. Elderly pregnancy had significantly high risk to hypertensive disorder in pregnancy, diabetes mellitus, placenta previa and higher in cesarean section rate [RR 3.4 (95%CI 2.2, 5.2), RR 2.7 (95%CI 1.3, 5.7), RR 3.3 (95%CI 1.5, 7.3), RR 1.4 (95%CI 1.2, 2.11)], respectively. So surveillance this condition is necessary since antenatal care.
