Abstract
Terminalia chebula stands out as a plant of significant therapeutic potential, deeply rooted in traditional medicine and increasingly validated by modern scientific investigations. Its wide geographical distribution and adaptability have contributed to its long-standing use across diverse cultures, while its rich phytochemical profile, brimming with phytochemicals such as flavonoids, alkaloids, polyphenols, and triterpenoids, forms the basis of its multifaceted pharmacological activities. This review encompasses researches demonstrating T. Chebula efficacy in addressing a spectrum of health challenges. From its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, which underpin its benefits in various chronic diseases, to its promising anticancer, antimicrobial, cardioprotective, antidiabetic, and hepatoprotective potential. The exploration of T. Chebula mechanisms of action reveals a complex interplay of cellular pathways, highlighting the intricate nature of its therapeutic approach and linking the gap between traditional wisdom and modern medicine.
