Abstract
Two cases of Hunter Syndrome in brothers, 5 and 6 years of age were reported. This report demonstrates typical Hunter Syndrome and reviews clinical pictures of all other various types of mucopolysaccharidoses. The diagnosis of these cases is based on the characteristic histories, clinical, roentgenographic findings and tests for urinary mucopolysaccharides. Hunter Syndrome was described by Hunter (Hunter, C: A rare disease in two brothers. Proc. R. Soc. Med. 10 : 104, 1917). This syndrome is type II of mucopolysaccharidoses (Mucopolysaccharidosis II), a rare incidence and has never been reported in Thailand particularly in two members of the same family. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the clinical features of typical Hunter Syndrome and differential diagnosis of other types of mucopolysaccharidoses.
