Abstract
We report two cases who presented with respiratory distress after trauma that were treated for a left-sided
haemopneumothrax. These were finally diagnosed as giant diaphragmatic hernias. The diagnostic difficulties and
complications arising out of a wrong diagnosis are discussed.
