dc.description.abstractCell saver was first commercially available in 1968. At that time, there were many problems such ascontaminated blood, anti-coagulated blood, air embolism and renal failure. There is now improved anddeveloped continuously until the machine is performing well. Major benefit of using Cell saver is donor bloodreduction. Therefore, it can reduce transmitted disease from blood such as AIDS and hepatitis. In Thailand,the Cell saver is available used in open heart surgery, but not another surgery and other indications. This articlepresents the principle of working, indications, contraindications, the advantages and disadvantages of Cellsaver using.en_US
