dc.description.abstractSergei Sergeievich Korsakov was the first great Russian neuropsychiatrist of the 19th century and published numerous works in neuropathology, psychiatry, and forensic medicine. Apart from his studies on alcoholic psychosis, he introduced the concept of paranoia and formulated his theory of ‘dysnoia’ and wrote an excellent textbook on psychiatry. He actively participated in promoting the rights of the mentally ill. He was a scientist, psychiatrist, thinker and humanist.en_US
