Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis (XGC) is an uncommon form of chronic cholecystitis[1] characterized by inflammation and infiltration of gall bladder (GB) wall by lymphocytes and multinucleated histiocytic giant cells. There is transudation of bile into gall bladder wall and involvement of the Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses leading to formation of submucosal abscess and xanthogranulomas.[2] On CECT, they appear as submucosal hypoattenuating nodules and circumferential wall thickening of gallbladder wall, a sign highly specific of XGC.[3]en_US
