Item Decolorization of pulp paper mill effluent by Pleurotus sajorcaju.(2008-04-20) Yadav, Meera; Yadav, K SPleurotus sajorcaju MTCC-141 procured from Microbial Type Culture Collection Centre and Gene Bank, Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh has been used for color removal from paper mill effluent. The paper mill effluent amended with basal medium supports the growth of Pleurrotus sajorcaju and removes the colour. The optimum concentrations of carbon source (glucose) and nitrogen source (NH4NO3) for the maximum decolourization of paper mill effluent were found to be 1% and 0.2% respectively. During the fungal growth process, the pH of the paper mill effluent decreased from 7.94 to 4.0.Item Endobronchial leiomyoma.(1993-03-01) Mathur, R M; Sen, G; Yadav, K STwo rare cases of endobronchial leiomyoma are presented. Both cases presented with suppuration and destruction of ipsilateral lung. The diagnosis was confirmed by biopsy and pneumonectomy performed. The world literature of previously reported twenty two cases is reviewed and salient features elaborated. The tendency to treat such cases with antitubercular drugs in a country were tuberculosis is endemic should be deplored.Item Hydatid disease of lung--a clinical study of thirty cases.(1988-10-01) Mathur, R M; Mohan, S; Yadav, K S; Sen, GItem Primary mediastinal hydatid cyst.(1999-01-20) Purohit, M; Srivastava, C P; Yadav, K SAn unusual case of primary mediastinal echinococcosis in a young female presented with non-specific symptoms. On examination, she had signs of Horner's syndrome and mild superior vena cava compression. She was operated successfully. The final diagnosis could only be made on the operating table and confirmed by histopathology. Hydatid cyst in mediastinum is uncommon but because of surrounding vital structures and potential of its complete cure should be explored without delay.
