    Hyaluronic Acid: Glimmer of Optimism for Black Triangles

    Introduction: Interdental papilla reconstruction,in estheticareas is proven to be one of the most challenging tasks inperiodontology. Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycanmolecule with anti inflammatory, anti-edematous propertieson periodontal tissues invaded by submicrobial flora.Case report: A 35 years old male patient reported todepartment of periodontics and oral implantology, Jaipurdental college with the chief complaint of loss of gum(inter dental papilla),i.e. black triangle, in the upper frontteeth(anterior maxillary teeth). Patient was estheticallyconcerned about this. Treatment planning was to reconstructthe lost interdental papilla by injecting 0.2% hyaluronic acidvia nonsurgical approach.The procedure was performed aftera standardized working protocol of injecting dermal fillers inpapillae, digital photographing and measuring the outcomesfor observation periods between 2 weeks to 3 months.Conclusion: Injecting dermal fillers in gingiva resulted in avolume raise of papillae height.The use of dermal fillers is a minimally invasive way tooptimize gingival contours. It is a non-invasive approachwhich reduces patient's postoperative discomfort with markedvariations in the volume of interdental papilla before and afterthe procedure.

    Role of Dynamic Contrast Enhanced MRI in Evaluation of Focal Hepatic Lesions

    Background: CMost of the focal hepatic lesions in day to day practice can be diagnosed by cross sectional contrast enhanced studies. The present study evaluates the role of dynamic contrast enhanced MRI for detection & characterization of these lesions commonly found in our area. Methods: It’s a perspective study of 50 patients with all age groups who were suspected clinically to have focal hepatic lesions or diagnosed so by ultrasonography or computed tomography. The patients underwent MRI including dynamic contrast enhanced sequences, which included i.v. administration of the contrast material (Gadopentate dimeglumine). The results of the MRI were confirmed by various confirmatory methods depending upon the lesion in question. Results & Conclusions: Overall sensitivity of MRI in detection of focal hepatic lesions was 100% while its specificity was 98%. Comprehensive MR imaging examination yields characteristic enhancement patterns that can be used to diagnose or at least narrow the differential diagnosis for most of these lesions

    Vesicouterine fistula: a case report

    Vesicouterine fistula represents a rare urogenital fistula, accounting for approximately 1-4% of genitourinary fistulas. Iatrogenic reasons have been shown to be most common cause. Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment. Less than 5% patients respond to conservative management. Authors report a case of successful conservative management of vesicouterine fistula.
