On operation table, the lesion was interpreted as malignant.Item Leiomyoblastoma of stomach.(1992-02-01) Parikh, S S; Kapadia, K B; Mandke, J V; Prabhu, S R; Pai, M V; Desai, H GItem Multiple chylous cysts of abdomen causing intestinal obstruction.(1992-10-01) Kamat, M M; Bahal, N K; Prabhu, S R; Pai, M VA case of multiple chylous cysts of the abdomen in a 35 years old female is presented here. The patient presented with signs and symptoms of acute intestinal obstruction. Exploratory laparotomy revealed few intestinal adhesions along with multiple small cysts containing blood stained gelatinous material in the abdominal cavity, some of which were excised alongwith lymph nodes. The abdomen was closed after a saline peritoneal lavage. Chylous nature of the cysts was confirmed on histopathology. The post-operative course was asymptomatic.Item Retroperitoneal teratoma presenting as acute abdomen in an elderly person.(2000-04-17) Pandya, J S; Pai, M V; Muchhala, SA 56-year-old man presented with acute abdomen. Clinically, he was diagnosed as having perigastric abscess. On exploration, a retroperitoneal cystic teratoma was encountered. Postoperatively, he recovered uneventfully and has no residual disease two years later.
