Item Anti-insulin antibodies and retinopathy in juvenile onset type-1 diabetes.(1991-10-01) Sharma, K; Khosla, P K; Tiwari, H K; Sharma, R K; Bajaj, J SJuvenile diabetics have severe loss of beta cell function and require replacement therapy with insulin. Insulin antigenicity can produce anti-insulin antibodies resulting in allergic reactions and insulin resistance. The role of insulin-anti-insulin antibody complexes in the development and progress of chronic diabetic complications like microangiopathy is not very clear. In the present study, there was statistically a significant trend of higher insulin antibody binding levels in IDDM patients who developed retinopathy. Though there was a trend of higher insulin antibody in IDDM patients with retinopathy, there was no association between insulin antibody and HLA antigen which some authors have reported.Item Anticoagulant therapy in branch vein occlusion.(1981-10-01) Tewari, H K; Khosla, P K; Garg, S PItem Aphakic retinal detachment.(1981-12-01) Khosla, P K; Tewari, H K; Garg, S PItem Argon laser photocoagulation in treatment of central serous retinopathy--a prospective randomized study.(1986-01-01) Tewari, H K; Azad, R; Khosla, P K; Kumar, AItem Axoplasmic transport in optic nerve (an experimental study in rabbits).(1982-01-01) Khosla, P K; Patra, S; Prakash, P; Ratnakar, K SItem Choroidal detachment in association with retinal detachment.(1984-05-01) Azad, R; Tewari, H K; Khosla, P KItem Conjunctival cyst after retinal detachment surgery.(1988-10-01) Garg, S P; Verma, L; Khosla, P KItem Contralateral eye in central serous retinopathy.(1987-03-01) Sihota, R; Azad, R V; Tewari, H K; Khosla, P KItem Early receptor potential in retinitis pigmentosa.(1983-05-01) Khosla, P K; Madhok, P; Gahlot, D KItem Effect of hyperosmotic agent (mannitol) on ciliary epithelium.(1981-04-01) Khosla, P K; Nayak, B K; Prakash, P; Ratnakar, K SItem Effect of optic nerve sectioning on e.r.g. Surgical procedures for its repair entails complex and extensive instrumentation besides technical skill. The success rate varies widely with high incidence of redetachment. Keeping this in view, we evaluated the role of intravitreal daunorubicin as an anti-mitiotic agent in the inhibition of PVR. Our study concluded that 5 micrograms of intravitreal daunorubicin effectively inhibited PVR in the rabbit eye and the dosage was safe and nontoxic. The half-life of the drug was determined to be about 140 minutes, suggesting a prolonged intravitreal concentration sufficient to prevent fibroblast proliferation.Item Fellow eye in senile disciform degeneration of the macula.(1983-01-01) Azad, R; Tewari, H K; Khosla, P KItem Genetic marker in juvenile diabetic retinopathy.(1989-01-01) Khosla, P K; Sharma, K; Tiwari, H K; Bajaj, J S; Vaidya, M CThirty five patients with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) were investigated for development of retinal microangiopathy by fluorescein angiography. HLA typing (A,B.C antigens) was done as a genetic marker. There was no statistically significant difference in the frequency of HLA antigens between patients without retinopathy (Gr.I) and with retinopathy (Gr.II) Frequency of various HLA antigens did not differ significantly in the mild and severe retinopathy groups or in comparison with controls. HLA B8 was significantly over represented in the patients of IDDM as a single group (GrI + II) when compared with controls (26% vs 8%). HLA profile was not a predictor of either the development or the severity of retinopathy in IDDM.Item Gyrate atrophy of the choroid and retina.(1989-07-01) Verma, L; Murthy, H; Tewari, H K; Khosla, P KA rare case of gyrate atrophy of the choroid and retina is reported in two female siblings. The diagnosis was made on clinical, electrophysiological, angiographic and biochemical features. This possibly is the first documentation of hyperornithemic gyrate atrophy (HOGA) from the Indian subcontinent.Item Hypertensive retinopathy.(1983-01-01) Singh, J; Tewari, M K; Khosla, P K; Azad, RItem Investigative procedures in heredomacular degeneration.(1983-05-01) Khosla, P K; Gahlot, D K; Tewari, H KItem Iris angiography in diabetic retinopathy.(1987-03-01) Tewari, H K; Azad, R; Kumar, A; Khosla, P K
