Item Cytohistological diagnosis of soft tissue giant cell tumour of neck – A rare presentation(Educational Society for Excellence, 2016) Choudhary, A; Tyagi, VS; Choudhary, A; Kalra, R; Jain, A.Giant cell tumors of soft tissue (GCT-ST) are rare primary soft tissue tumor with low malignant potential, considered as the soft tissue counterpart of giant cell tumor of bone. We reported a rare case of soft tissue giant cell tumor of neck in a 46 years old male with painless swelling in left side of neck after a history of trauma 3 months back. Computed tomography suggested a small soft tissue mass and or post biopsy hemorrhage, but the diagnosis of giant cell tumor was confirmed after cytohistological examination. Wide local excision of the tumor was done.Item Endometrial alkaline phosphatase activity in sterility (primary and secondary).(1988-07-01) Kalra, R; Vijay, G; Kalra, V B; Gupta, PItem Heterologous osseous differentiation in Malignant Phyllodes tumour – A rare case report(Educational Society for Excellence, 2016) Choudhary, A; Agarwal, D; Goyal, D; Kalra, R; Choudhary, A.Breast sarcomas are rare neoplasms accounting for less than 1% of breast malignancy. Phyllodes tumors have biphasic histological features with both epithelial and stromal component. Careful characterization of the stromal component is critical since it is the pathologic features of the stromal cells that determine its malignant potential. We reported a case of 57 years old female with right breast mass who underwent wide excision and on histological examination a diagnosis of malignant phyllodes tumour with heterogonous osseous differentiation was made. The rarity of the lesion was considered for reporting and on follow up the patient was free of metastasis.Item Histopathological changes in aluminium phosphide poisoning.(1995-10-01) Arora, B; Punia, R S; Kalra, R; Chugh, S N; Arora, D RA total of thirty cases of aluminium phosphide poisoning were studied for gross and microscopic changes in various organs of the body ie, lungs, liver, kidneys, heart, brain, stomach and adrenals. The histopathological changes revealed varying degrees of congestion, oedema and leucocytic infiltration, changes suggestive of cellular hypoxia. The most dramatic effects were produced in lungs, kidneys and adrenals.Item Lung cancer with skin metastasis--case report.(2000-09-23) Gupta, K B; Tandon, S; Kalra, R; Arora, BItem Primary intraosseous meningioma.(2008-01-18) Marwah, N; Gupta, S; Marwah, S; Singh, S; Kalra, R; Arora, BPrimary intraosseous meningioma of the skull is an uncommon lesion often confused preoperatively with a primary bone tumor of the skull. We report this rare tumor in a 19-year-old male who was radiographically diagnosed as osteoid osteoma.Item Respiratory symptoms as first manifestation in an occult alveolar soft part sarcoma.(2014-07) Kundu, Z S; Kalra, R; Rana, P; Mathur, S K; Sangwan, S S; Siwach, R CItem Serum copper and ceruloplasmin in pregnancy with anaemia.(1989-01-01) Kalra, R; Kalra, V B; Sareen, P M; Khandelwal, REstimation of serum copper and ceruloplasmin was done in 25 non pregnant females, 25 healthy pregnant women followed from I to III trimester and 75 pregnant women with anaemia--25 in each trimester. Anaemia was further divided into mild, moderate and severe types (27, 32 & 16 cases respectively). Normal pregnancy was associated with progressive increase in serum copper and ceruloplasmin--values being highest in III trimester. All types of anaemias in pregnancy revealed statistically significant elevation of serum copper and ceruloplasmin when compared to corresponding gestational period in normal pregnancy.
