METHODS: BAER recordings were taken in 30 icteric ferm neonates at birth, at peak of serum bilirubin levels and on a follow-up visit at 2-4 months of age. RESULTS: Mean latency of waves and interwave intervals on the BAER records were prolonged in icteric babies compared to the control group suggesting early bilirubin encephalopathy. Abnormal records were obtained in 73.3% cases and the abnormality persisted in the follow-up tracings of 23.3% of the study group. CONCLUSION: BAER is a sample, reliable and effective technique for determining auditory functions in the neonates especially changes of early bilirubin toxicity.Item Carcinoma hypopharynx--a review of 150 cases.(1975-06-01) Pandhi, S C; Mehra, Y N; Dutta, T K; Gupta, B DItem Carcinoma of the male breast.(1975-03-01) Dutta, T K; Deka, A C; Gupta, B D; Kaushik, S PItem Cardiac dysautonomia in acute intermittent porphyria.(1983-08-01) Gupta, G L; Saksena, H C; Gupta, B DItem Cervical spondylosis: a correlative clinico-radiological study.(1973-05-16) Gupta, B D; Natarajan, MItem Cesarean section and lactation failure.(1987-10-01) Arora, A K; Gupta, B DItem Child labor.(1986-09-01) Maheshwari, R K; Karunakaran, M; Gupta, B D; Bhandari, S RItem Clinical dosimetry of extended field radiation in cancer cervix.(1976-12-01) Negi, P S; Dutta, T K; Sudhakaran, V G; Gupta, B DItem Clinical evaluation of serum protein bound fucose as a diagnostic and prognostic index in malignant tumours.(1976-09-01) Dutta, T K; Sengupta, U; Gupta, B DItem A comparative effect of central nervous system acting drugs on the open field performance in rats.(1970-04-01) Dandiya, P C; Gupta, B D; Gupta, M LItem A comparative study of furazolidone and metronidazole in giardiasis.(1977-07-01) Singh, R N; Gupta, B D; Gupta, M; Kochar, SItem Congenital and neonatal malaria.(1979-07-01) Miglani, N; Gupta, B D; Gupta, G LItem Cranial ultrasonic assessment of infants with acute bacterial meningitis.(1994-11-01) Soni, J P; Gupta, B D; Soni, M; Gupta, M; Dabi, D R; Nemal, K RA prospective study was performed on 44 patients (newborn to one year old) with acute bacterial meningitis. Sonograms were obtained within 72 hours of diagnosis, and repeated on 7th, 14th or at an early date, if required. The spectrum of sonographic features of meningitis included normal scan (35.4%), echogenic sulci (63.7%) and parenchyma (29.5%), ventriculomegaly (59%), ventriculitis (35%), pseudo-porencephalic cyst (4.4%), extra axial fluid collection (4.4%), encephalomalacia (2.2%) and cerebral abscess (2.2%) in patients.Item Demonstration of specific antigenecity of various fractions of human liver homogenate.(1979-10-01) Agarwal, T D; Gupta, B D; Dhamija, J P; Jatkar, P RItem Demonstration of specific antigenicity of various fractions of human liver homogenate.(1980-07-01) Agrawal, T D; Gupta, B D; Dhamija, J P; Jatkar, P R
