Item Assessment of Developmental Co-Ordination Disorder in Normal School Going: A Cross Sectional Study(International Journal of Contemporary Medical Research, 2023-09) Jain, Aishwarya; Ganvir, Shyam D.; Shinde, Sonal; Shastri, Kshipra; Kalantri, Gayatri; Pawar, AnushreeIntroduction: Developmental Co-ordination disorder may occur alone or with other developmental co-ordination disorder such as autism and cerebral palsy. Developmental coordination disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by poor motor proficiency that interferes with an individual’s activities of daily living. Present in approximately 5-6% of school-aged children, developmental coordination disorder is a disability. Hence this study aimed to assess the developmental co-ordination disorder among normal school going children. Material and methods:- This cross-sectional study was carried out in school on 30 children aged 7 to 12 years. After taking institutional ethical clearance and informed consent the developmental co-ordination disorders were assessed using Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire. Result: Mean age of participants in the study was 10.7 ± 0.71. While the mean score for gross motor, fine motor, general coordination and total was 26.4 ± 5.3, 17.05 ± 2.17, 21.5 ± 3.30 and 65.05 ± 8.6 respectively. Conclusion: The study concluded that developmental coordination disorder is not only seen in children with any neurodevelopmental problems but also affects the healthy children and fine motor components were more affected.Item Physical performance, fear of fall and urinary incontinence among premenopausal, perimenopausal and postmenopausal women(Medip Academy, 2024-07) Pawar, Anushree M.; Ganvir, Shyam D.Background: The menopausal transition, which occurs when a woman transitions from reproductive to post-reproductive life, is an important turning point in the female life cycle. The prevalence of menopausal symptoms has been shown to vary widely across various Asian research. It's critical to comprehend the connection between menopausal women's health and well-being and physical performance, fear of falling, and urine incontinence in order to design effective therapies.Methods: The study was approved for conduct by the ethical committee. 195 women in the 45� age range participated in this 1.5-year observational analytical study, which was conducted in a community setting.Results: Statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) version 20.0 was used to analyze the data, and a significance level of less than 0.05 was regarded as statistically significant.Conclusions: Transition through menopause is associated with lowered physical performance, high concern fear of fall in postmenopausal compared to premenopausal and perimenopausal while urinary incontinence varies across different stages of menopause.Item Translation and validation of Marathi version of questionnaire for urinary incontinence diagnosis(Medip Academy, 2023-11) Pawar, Anushree M.; Ganvir, Shyam D.Background: Urinary incontinence is a common health problem among women, which affects the quality of life. knowledge about the risk factors of urinary incontinence in this population will help us to take measures to reduce the burden of the condition. Questionnaire for urinary incontinence diagnosis (QUID) helps to distinguish type of incontinence.Methods: It was a community based cross-sectional study involving women living in the rural areas. A total of 25 women were taken for this study to find out reliability and validity of Marathi version of this questionnaire. Data was analysed with statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) 20.0.Results: The internal consistency (homogeneity) was evaluated by Cronbach抯 ? coefficient, which was 0.795. validation was obtained from expert panel and the pilot testing showed that the questionnaire is acceptable.Conclusions: QUID Marathi version has been proven a reliable and valid tool for assessing urinary incontinence in women. It can be used as a quick screening tool for urinary incontinence in women of rural population.
