Present study had been conducted to know relation between cognition and blood pressure in geriatric people. Method :A cross sectional study was conducted among 600 study participants aged of 60 years or more in villages of Vadodara district. Blood pressure was measured by sphygmomanometer and cognition was screened through Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). Results:The overall prevalence of high blood pressure among study participants was 42.7%. Cognitive impairment (MMSE score < 22) was prevalent in 23.5% of study participants. High SBP was significantly associated with low MMSE score even after adjusting potential confounders in multiple linear regression models. Conclusion:-SBP is related to poorer performance on Mini-Mental State Exam in the geriatric population aged 60 years and above in absence of any apparent neurological deficit.
