Cryptococcal meningitis associated with tuberculosis in HIV infected patients. Indian Journal of Tuberculosis. 2013 Jul; 60(3): 180-183.http://imsear.searo.who.int/handle/123456789/159965Summary: Opportunistic infections are common complications of advanced immuno-deficiency in individuals with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. Following involvement of the lung, the central nervous system (CNS) is the second most commonly affected organ. We report two cases of concurrent cryptococcal meningitis and tuberculosis (TB) in HIV infected persons. A high suspicion of multiple opportunistic infections should be kept in mind in HIV seropositive individuals.enHuman Immunodeficiency VirusCryptococcal MeningitisTuberculosisAIDS-Related Opportunistic Infections --drug therapyAIDS-Related Opportunistic Infections --microbiologyAIDS-Related Opportunistic Infections --physiopathologyAdultAnti-Retroviral Agents --administration & dosageAntifungal Agents --administration & dosageAntitubercular Agents --administration & dosageCoinfectionCryptococcus neoformans --isolation & purificationHIV Infections --complicationsHIV Infections --drug therapyHumansMaleMeningitis, Cryptococcal --cerebrospinal fluidMeningitis, Cryptococcal --complicationsMeningitis, Cryptococcal --drug therapyMeningitis, Cryptococcal --physiopathologyTreatment OutcomeTuberculosis, Pulmonary --drug therapyTuberculosis, Pulmonary --radiographyTuberculosis, Pulmonary --complicationsCryptococcal meningitis associated with tuberculosis in HIV infected patients.Article
