The influence of postoperativeself-consciousness of the body and its impact can helpsurgeons determine the satisfaction rate on their work, and thepatient’s quality of life. There is no method of determining thelevel of satisfaction that is free from bias, even the mostobjective quantitative method of analysis. An extensiveliterature search was conducted using search engines such asPubMed, Embase and Google scholar focusing onadolescents, who underwent rhinoplasty for cosmetic purposesand compared satisfaction levels reported through differentdemographic characteristics. It was clear that satisfactionlevels and outcomes such as depression differed by gender.Even boys are equally satisfied as girls; they seem to benefitless from rhinoplasty in their day-to-day life. However, therewere no clear reports that compared these factors amongstraces and weight of adolescents. Adolescents seekingthe rhinoplasty procedure have more distress linked withconsciousness of body image.
