The patient succumbed to cardiogenic shock. Widespread fragmentation and calcification of internal elastic lamina accompanied by intimal fibroblastic thickening involved mainly medium-sized muscular arteries accompanied by intimal fibroblastic thickening were noted. Coronary involvement was the most prominent and myocardial infarction resulted.
