Case characteristics: An extremely preterm infant who developed severe pulmonary hypertension unresponsive to inhaled nitric oxide after ibuprofen administration. Outcome: Pulmonary hypertension reversed after the administration of oral sildenafil, but the infant died due to complications related to bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
