Study design: Retrospective cohort study. Setting: Menopausal clinic, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, BMA Medical College and Vajira Hospital. Subjects: The 62 postmenopausal women attending at menopausal clinic who received hormonal replacement therapy with cyclic or continuous combined regimens for at least one year, 31 in each group. Methods: The medical records and mammograms of postmenopausal women who received hormonal replacement therapy with cyclic or continuous combined regimens were reviewed. Mammograms before and one year after hormonal replacement therapy were interpreted by one radiologist using Wolf's criteria. Main outcome measures: Mammographic density changes before and at least one year after hormonal replacement therapy following Wolf's criteria. Results: Mammographic densities after receiving hormonal replacement therapy were increased in both groups. Numbers of women with increase in mammographic density in continuous combined group (25/31, 80.6%) were higher than in cyclic combined group (6/31, 19.4%), the difference was statistically significant (pen-USFaculty of Medicine, Vajira Hospital, University of Bangkok Metropolis, Bangkok, ThailandMammographic Density Changes of Postmenopasual Women after Hormonal Replacement Therapy with Cyclic and Continuous Combined RegimensOriginal Articles
