Ultrasonography revealed a large solitary right lobe liver abscess, which was treated by aspiration and antiamebic treatment. The patient continued to be symptomatic with the abscess increasing in size. Repeat aspiration revealed a pure growth of coccidioidomycosis, which was confirmed on culture.
