Abstract
Objective: To study vaginal misoprostol suppository and criminal abortion at Uthaithani Hospital. Setting: Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Uthaithani Hospital. Design: Retrospective descriptive study. Subject: 70 criminal abortion women at Uthaithani Hospital between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2007. Method: Retrospective descriptive study from patients record in aspects of baseline data, the history of criminal abortion and complications. Results: Of 70 criminal abortion women admitted to Uthaithani Hospital, 51.4% were youth. 45.7 % used misoprostol vaginal suppository method, 84.4 % had successful abortion, and 31.2 % had complication. Conclusion: 51.4% of criminal abortion women were youth. 45.7 % were used misoprostol vaginal suppository method and 84.4 % were successed. The increased rate of misoprostol vaginal suppository method were related to the decrease rate of complication.
