Abstract
The result of treatment of children with ITP, who received either 0.5, 1 or 2 mg/kg per day of prednisolone showed that 1 mg/kg per day gave the best response, the least failure rate and the duration of treatment was not different compared to 2 mg/kg per day. It was concluded that the proper dosage of the prednisolone given to these children should be 1 mg/kg per day. However the number of the patients in the study were rather small further clinical studies and treatment with 1 mg/kg and 2 mg/kg per day of prednisolone in childhood ITP are warranted.
