Abstract
Childhood obesity is increasing at an alarming rate both in developed and developing
countries, has been approaching as global pandemics proportion. Global prevalence of overweight
and obesity rose by 27.5% for adults and 47.1% for children between 1980 and 2013, Global
estimate suggests the number of overweight and obese individuals increased from 857 million
in 1980 to 2.1 billion in 2013. In 2010 the prevalence of childhood overweight and obesity was
estimated at 11.7% in developed countries and 6.1% in developing countries.
