Abstract
Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu (II) with two 12-membered tetradentate
macrocyclic ligands derived from the condensation of diketones with diamines have been prepared.
All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, conductance measurements,
magnetic moment, infrared, ESR and electronic spectral studies. The complexes were found to have
composition MLCl2. On the basis of spectral and magnetic studies octahedral geometry have been
assigned for these complexes. These complexes have been screened in vitro for their possible
antimicrobial activity.
