Arm and leg in Thai adults.

Abstract
A survey of 2,008 healthy Thai adults, 15-88 years of age, was conducted in Bangkok and seven rural areas which fit the WHO criteria of reference population. The measurements in centimeters in males and females respectively were : a. Lengths : arm span : 167.7 + 7.3, 154.5 + 6.4  leg length : 76.6 + 4.1, 70.9 + 3.7 b. Circumference : upper arm : 26.6 + 2.6, 25.7 + 3.2  thigh : 47.8 + 4.4, 48.7 + 5.3  leg : 33.6 + 2.6, 32.4 + 3.1 These anthropometric measurements showed significant sex, age and area differences probably due to the differences in cohort, nutrition and/or physical activity. Compared to a previous report on Thai adults, the adults in this study have larger arm circumference but compared to the Americans and WHO standard, smaller arm circumferences. The arm circumferences of males and females in this study fall in the 90th percentile of the WHO standard.
